The reason for Samsung fans to choose S7 Edge over S7 is the better display resolution and better battery life. It comes with a 12MP rear camera which takes excellent shots. The most unique thing about smartphones are their designs. This phone comes with a metal body with a glass finish. This phone has the best display and build quality over any smartphone released in 2016. Its stunning resolution makes it VR ready and it is also water resistant.

It runs TouchWiz UI which is not liked by many but its experience is improving and is getting close to stock android experience. Some minor disappointments are the battery life which is the weakest of all the smartphones in this list and the speaker quality which is quite average considering the range of the smartphone.

   Google Pixel XL

Pixel line of smartphones are the first phones which are introduced straight by Google. Its release was rushed into the market. But it did not disappoint the audience with its outstanding specifications. Many people were not a fan of its design but it has a smooth interface with stock Android version of 7.0 Android Nougat. It has a better screen resolution (5.5 inches Quad HD) than Google Pixel.

Because of its great resolution,Google Daydream was introduced by Google for pixel line of smartphones. It has the best battery life of all the smartphones on this list and it also takes low light photos better than the iPhone 7 plus.

The list is incomplete without mentioning Samsung Galaxy Note 7  as it had the potential to be the best smartphone of the year. It has an octa-core processor with 5.7 inch screen with resolution of 1440 x 2560 and 4GB RAM .

It didn’t make it to the list because this phone was not safe. For those who don’t know, this phone on initial release had a problem in its battery and as a result it exploded unexpectedly. Several incidents of this phone exploding at Home, Work places and even at Airports were observed. So Samsung had to call off all the shipments and new versions were shipped. But they still exploded so they discontinued this smartphone.
